About
Our mission is to promote academic environment that promotes teaching, education, and research in clinical biochemistry. Our primary focus is on providing professional learning and training programs that will prepare students for successful employment in clinical and pharmaceutical chemistry, nutrition, and medical laboratory sciences. This is achieved through specialized teaching methods that provide an in-depth knowledge of the basic principles of biochemical and biological processes in the human body, both in health and in disease. Our educational program also promotes critical thinking abilities for successfully analyzing and interpreting biochemical data.
Clinical biochemistry is a branch of biomedical sciences concerned with the study of biochemical reactions that occur in biological processes in the body. This field involves examination and interpretation of physiochemical conditions and dynamics in healthy and diseased individuals through chemical analysis of bodily fluids and other biological components. So, the vision of our department is to be a recognized and distinguished unit in the field of health sciences to prepare professionals having an excellent level of scientific efficiency and lab experience with which our graduates are well-prepared to work in hospitals, healthcare centers, diagnostic facilities, scientific research centers, and pharmaceutical companies in both the public and private sectors.
The objectives of the Department are to:
- to provide a high-quality education and research development courses in clinical biochemistry.
- Develop a comprehensive understanding of the application of
- biochemical and clinical chemistry principles to the identification and management of human diseases.
- The aim of the department is to prepare graduates to serve as healthy lifestyle instructors and conduct studies in clinical chemistry and laboratory medicine, as well as to provide medical, diagnostic, and advanced laboratory services.
- By the end of the course, the students will be able to demonstrate advanced knowledge and understanding in the different area of clinical Biochemistry and biomedical sciences including:
- Analytical Chemistry
- Nutrition
- Systemic Histology
- Human Genetics
- Endocrinology
- Quality Control and Lab Management
- Clinical Immunology
- Pharmacology and Toxicology
